That’s A New One…

So tonight I was doing The Iron Juggernaut in LFR with Eldaraina.  It gets to the second phase with the exploding tar and the Shock Pulse, and so I stand where I normally do, near the fence where you enter.  I’ve done it this way many times, but this time the Shock Pulse knocked me over the fence and out of the combat area, where I promptly died.  Seems no one in the raid had ever seen it happen before, which caused a bit of laughter.

First time for everything I guess!

Smart? Maybe Not. Satisfying? Hell Yes!!!!

It’s been a busy weekend, so this is the first chance I have had to do LFR Petaline, my resto Shammy.  First half I only got the VP, which is enough, but second half, I got Timepiece of the Bronze Flight, a nice shield that was an upgrade.  And tbh I loooooove shields, they are far nice than Off Hands IMO, so double yay!

But what is this?  Mr Healing Pally isn’t happy that I have won it.  He WANTS THAT SHIELD!! And I won’t hand it over as he is being whiney and rude.  I did inspect his gear, it was the same upgrade for him, so not like he only had a 359 or anything.

So it’s onwards and upwards, and we put down Deathwing like the rabid animal he is.  And Maw of the Dragonlord drops.  Again, an upgrade for me, so I roll on it.  So does Mr Pally-ally-alladin, and wins, even though he has the 403 version.  “GIVE ME THE SHIELD OR I’LL VENDOR THE MACE” he says.

Now this is me we are talking about.  I’ve dealt with assholes all my life, from the guy who wee’d on my My Little Pony toy when I was 5 to getting the snot kicked out of me to save a kitten from someone wish it harm (He was 6ft 5, that didn’t stop me) so an internet tough guy doesn’t phase me.  And I have this mindset where I don’t give into bullies.

“Vendor it then.” And with that, I left the raid.

Did I want the mace?  Is the Pope Catholic?  Of course I did.  Was it a better upgrade? Sure it was.  But come on, if I give into people like that they’ll think they can get away with shit like that all the time, so no, I am not going to enable his crappy behaviour.  I feel bad for the other people who needed that mace though.

So, maybe I cut my own nose off to spite my face, but damn, it was satisfying!

Turn Trade Chat OFF Dammit!!

I forgot to turn trade off. Again.

Today’s topic is ninja’ing in raids and LFR. I managed to catch this little gem.

Now normally I don’t name and shame but I’m in a obstinant mood, and I want to make sure that my guild never get this guy in as a pug in a raid.  Funny, my main has an iLevel of 393 and I have never ninja’d. Ever.

The sad part people actually agreed with him.

Thursday Doesn’t Even Start

I woke up yesterday to find my cold had come back, which was annoying as I had a driving lesson first thing, and quite frankly sneezing whilst controlling a car going 50 miles an hour quite frankly scared the shit out of me. But I lived, obviously, and did a cracking job of reversing round a corner. Plus I made my instructor laugh as I talk to myself about what I’m doing. I came to a junction and came out with “Slow down, clutch and brake upto the line, into first, nothing coming, bit of gas bit of clutch OOOH FORD CAPRI!!!”

I love Ford Capri’s. They are so 80,s, and from a time when cars looked different whereas nowadays they all look the same. I am determined to own one one day. So when I saw one and squeaked in delight my instructor informed me she has had 3 in the past, she loves them too.

I Did it AGAIN!!

It only feels like yesterday that I posted this about my first trip into LFR.  Since then I have done the Siege of Wyrmrest Temple quite a few tim, but I have never dared to try The Fall of Deathwing.  Until today!

I’ve gotten as far as the Spine of Deathwing with my guild, so I thought it may be time to try LFR.  It was a usual full of people whining about things, and an annoying DK he thought he was the mutts nuts, but it went fine.  A few wipes but meh, I can live with that.  And I didn’t actually win any loot, which I am very glad about in one respect as I accidentally rolled need on a healer mace that dropped from Deathwing and I can only imagine the QQing if I had won it.

And here is the surprise:

5th over all on the DPS.  And above the annoying DK, which just adds to the enjoyment.  Of course as far as I know it could have been a crappy DPS raid, but I’m still pleased with myself.  If I wasn’t on a diet I’d have some cake.

LFR Loot Etiquette

I did my second ever LFR today along with a few of my fellow Enthusiasts. It was quite a surprise actually as the raid for the most part was smooth and above all polite. No name calling, even when we had a bit of an oops moment on some slimes. No wipes though, and people even put down refreshment tables and fish feasts. And lucky me, I got two upgrades, so yay!

There was one downer though. Hagara dropped two of the same token, the priest/paladin/other I can’t remember one. Me being me I rolled need on one and passed on the other. But one of the paladins rolled need on both and won both. Which started a whole load of QQing from one of healing priests. The paladin decided to keep both tokens, one for main spec and one for off spec. Now personally I do think this is unfair, but I wasn’t about to cause a whole load of drama over it.

So what do others think? Should the pally have kept both or handed one to someone else who needed the token for MS? Would you have rolled on both?

I Did It!!

So further to my previous post about finally braving LFR I went ahead and did it after lunch.  And I did the four bosses, though it was a bit shaky at first.

So what are my thoughts?  Well, I think a hell of a lot of WoW players are assholes.  At least, they are online, I imagine they are internet tough guys.  For example:

Just one such gem.  A huge shitstorm broke out when one of the top Ding hunters rolled on a tier token despite already having the damn item as he did it for ‘justice’, why should low dps get anything when he is so freaking great.  Never mind the low dps is down to them needing the gear he feels HE deserves all of.  Lovely.

But you know what, I stuck it out and ingored the raid chat for the most part.  We wiped on Morchok, mainly because people didn’t run to the crystal, but that was the only thing that really went wrong, depsite various people saying things were ”fail”  even when we were downing a boss.  I am really begining to get a healthy dislike for the term Fail btw.

I was worried about my DPS somewhat, but look:

There is little old me at number 7.  Ok, that probably isn’t great DPS, not that I know if it is or not, but that means there were 10 people behind me, so meh, will do for me.

And the best part?  Gloves of Dying Light and Mosswrought Shoulderguards are now mine!
